Harry Potter Movie Review

I just saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Well, it was yesterday, but I got back real late...

Anyway, the movie was okay. Here's my review.

I did not like the beginning of the movie. I know it's a big book, but going through the World Quidditch Cup, the intro with Voldemort and the old man, and the trip to the train all within around fifteen minutes... It was moving too fast. And the only thing they did with the Quidditch Cup was introduce Krum and have Malfoy sneering at Harry, as usual. BUT Malfoy DID NOT sit in the same box as Harry and Weasleys, and Winky wasn't in the movie at all.

As the movie goes on, it's clear that they only showed the scenes with the most plot, and they LEFT A LOT OUT. It followed the book, in a way, but they left so much out. Like Rita Skeeter was not captured by Hermione and revealed to be an unregistered cochroach animegas(sp?), Harry did not overhear Hagrid and Madame Maxame discuss being half-giant, and the Dursleys weren't in it at all. I had been looking forward to seeing them freak out when The Weasley's came to pick up Harry, and I had also wanted to see the Quidditch cup.

As another complaint, neither Malfoy nor Snape were in this movie much. it was kind of disappointing for a Slytherin fan such as myself.

I did like the task scenes, though. The dragon vs. Harry scene was cool, and the dragons looked awesome. I loved the scene in which Harry fell down the tower. The underwater scene was done well. The fact that it was actually done underwater might be the reason... ~_^' It could've lasted longer, though.

The maze scene was disappointing. There was no Griffin or giant spider... *cries* I had hoped to see the griffin. And then, the Voldemort scene. The snake wasn't in it! But other than that, that scene was good. I liked the angel statue. ^_^ Then Voldemort's reawakening, was awesome.

After the Voldemort scene, when Harry returned, it was a little (ok, totally) dramatic, but I cried, so I guess it got the affect through. The rest of the movie kind of played out like the book... Except a few things. Like the Rita Skeeter thing...

Overall, I think they should've taken it slower, and not left so much out.
